Religious Sites

Everywhere that I travel there are religious sites that reflect the beliefs of the people that currently or previously lived in the area. Religion is one of the largest factors in a culture. It impacts the cultures fashion, foods, music, and politics. Learning about these sites will help to learn and understand the cultures that worship or worshiped in these places.

Famous religious sites are usually hundreds of years old. Many of these sites are sites are still being used as religious places of worship but some are in ruins. If it is in current use then there will probably be limited areas to visit and not open to the public at all on worship days. Additionally, visiting religious sites will require respecting the beliefs of the religion and wearing clothing that will be appropriate for the site.

The posts that will be shown under this category are the religious sites that I have been able to photograph in my travels around the world. I hope that you will enjoy seeing these places and that I will be able to communicate how special these places are to the people that worship at these sites and to the local community.
