Caves

Caves are nature’s formations that are created in isolation until discovered. The stalactites and stalagmites grow in complete darkness for thousands of years and when they are discovered the light is shown on them to reveal their beauty. Many of the formations in caves are spectacular. They have amazing shapes and some of them are unbelievably huge. Most of the formations are white and lack color but some have colors that are caused by the minerals in the area.

Caves have become a tourist attraction and many of the cave operators have added lighting within the cave to highlight the formations of the cave. Some of the lighting is white light because the cave operators want to show the cave in its natural state but some caves have colored lighting to make the formations more interesting. I am fine with both because I do like seeing things in their natural state but I also like the added color. I think that some colors make the formations more visible.

The posts that will be shown under this category are the caves that I have seen in my travels. I hope that you will enjoy my posts on these caves and that I will be able to show them in a way that will capture the beauty of the formations that took unknown years to form.
