A central business district (CBD) is the commercial and business center of a city and often coincides with the “city center or “downtown”. Most central business districts are known for having skyscrapers and modern office towers but many also have preserved architecture from earlier periods of the city. In addition to office space and inner city residences most central business districts have hotels, restaurants, museums and art galleries.

Many cities have developed their CBD by branding it with an identity around its cultural or historic past. This identity makes the CBD a place for tourists to enjoy experiencing the city’s cultural, history and themed festivals.

While some cities have exciting CBDs other cities have famous streets that are equally interesting to experience. These streets can be a great places to spend a day, a night or a weekend while traveling to an area during a vacation.
