Trolley cars or streetcars were once the main mode of public transportation in many cities around the world. Most of the urban trolley car systems were either dismantled or converted to other modes of transportation like light rail. However, some vintage trolley cars still operate in cities around the world. These vintage trolley car transportation systems are the topic of my posts under this category.
As I have mentioned many times, my allure for traveling is to experience places and things that are not common in the location where I live. Riding on a vintage trolley car is one of those experiences that is uncommon for me and probably for many other people.
Going from one location to another is not always about doing it the easiest way but it sometimes can be about how we traveled. It is easy to use ride share transportation but you never come home from a trip and talk about the exciting ride share trip that you took but you probably will talk about the trolley car ride that you used.
The posts that are shown under this category are the vintage trolley car systems that I have seen and actually used in my travels. I hope that you will enjoy my posts on these public transportation systems from the past that have survived and still contribute to today’s transportation needs.
I will be making more posts on other trolley cars, so check back later to see these future posts.
