The Saigon Skydeck is located on the 49th floor of the Bitexco Financial Tower in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. The Skydeck is all about the view of the city and the surrounding area.
The view from the Skydeck during the day gives you a completely different perspective of Ho Chi Minh City than from being on the street level. The 360 degree view allows you to see how large the city is and it lets you see several different high-rise centers across the city.
Being able to see the entire city is nice but the Skydeck also has a great view of two of the most popular attractions in the city. The next two photos are of the Ben Thanh Market and Nguyen Hue Street.
I always try to visit a tower when the weather is nice and normally I try to go late in the evening so that I can see the view during the day, when the sun sets and after it is dark because all three times are provide a different scene. The next set of photos show the city during sunset.
The day that I chose to go to the Skydeck was during the supermoon on November 14th, 2016. It was the closest that the moon had been to the earth since 1948. I was really happy that the sky was clear and the view of the moon rise was really nice.
The view of the city is spectacular during the day but it is equally beautiful at night. I think most cities look better after dark than during the day because I like the lights of the city and sometimes even the lights of the traffic on the roads.
Sometimes the buildings in a skyline have colorful lights that change colors during the nighttime. This is the case for Ho Chi Minh City and the view of one of these buildings is really nice from the Skydeck.
Earlier in the post I showed photos of Ben Thanh Market and Nguyen Hue Street during the day the photos below show both of them after dark. Nguyen Hue Street looks calm in these photos but on the weekends there is always a lot of activity going on and I will feature Nguyen Hue Street in a future post.
The Dust on My Shoes
Going to the Saigon Skydeck is a really nice experience. There is no time limit on how long you can stay so my suggestion is to go close to sunset and stay until after dark.
Ho Chi Minh City is a sprawling city that stretches as far as you can see. The view from the Skydeck really shows how vast this city is and it helps to understand that there is more to the city than District 1 where most of the tourist stay during a visit to Vietnam.
I particularly enjoyed watching the sun set and the moon rise. I am sure that watching the full moon rise from the Skydeck is nice even if it is not during a super moon.
Of course, my favorite time is after dark when the city lights make the city look more colorful and more interesting.
I am a big fan of visiting towers and other places that have nice views of the cities that I visit. Normally I try to go to the viewing deck early on my visit because it lets me see the things in the city that I might be interested in checking out. If I wait to the end of my visit I might not have time to see something that I discovered from the viewing deck.

Thanks Ashoak! Looking at Saigon from the Skydeck gives you a totally different perspective of the city than you get from the street level.
