Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and is the starting place for most tourist visiting Vietnam.

Hanoi’s most well-known tourist sights are the Temple of Literature, the old quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. In addition to these popular sites there are many other sites that I would recommend seeing and I will feature these in my posts which are linked in the photos below.

Hanoi is also a good location for short trips to visit Ha Long Bay, Sa Pa, Cao Bang Province and Ninh Binh. The places to visit in these locations can be found on the separate page for each location.
