Volcanoes can be found all around the world but they are normally grouped in regions. In North America they are in the Pacific Northwest and in Central America. Most volcanoes are conical in shape but that is not always true as the Hawaiian volcano is almost flat.

Dormant volcanoes become covered with local vegetation and make an excellent habitat for local wildlife. Volcanoes normally have lots of hiking trails and the view from the top is normally the place to see the surrounding area. The elevated height that most volcano have will create multiple climates on the volcano and some volcanoes are high enough that the top is snow covered all year.

The posts that will be shown under this category are the volcanoes that I have seen in my travels. I hope that you will enjoy my posts on these volcanoes and that I will be able to show them in a way that will illustrate what makes them such amazing places.
