The White-crested Laughing Thrush is a social bird that is usually seen in groups of 6 to 12 birds. They build their nest between 6 and 20 feet off the ground and lay 3 to 5 eggs which incubate for only 15 days before hatching. They will normally have 2 clutches of young each year and the first set of young will assist in helping to feed the second set of young.
One of the features that I like the most about these birds is the black band from its beak through its eyes. It makes the bird look like it is wearing a mask like an outlaw bird.
White-crested Laughing Thrushes are noisy, social birds that occasionally burst into loud calls that sound just like laughter. The photos below were taken during one of those outburst.

Great images. The crest is very pretty. How loud is the “laugh” compared to other bird calls? Is it annoying?
Thanks John, it’s laugh is about as loud as a crow and it is a little annoying because it didn’t seem like they would ever stop.
