The Space Needle is one of Seattle’s most famous tourist landmarks and is a must see for first time visitors to Seattle. The tower was built in 1962 for the World’s fair and stands 605 feet tall.
The Tower has an observation deck that is at a height of 520 feet. The observation deck allows for 360 degree viewing of Seattle and the Puget Sound. In 2018, the Space Needle unveiled the world’s first and only revolving glass floor known as “The Loupe”. The glass floor is 500 feet above the street level and is constructed with 10 layers of tightly bonded glass. The following photos are the view from the observation level of the tower.
The Space Needle can be seen from almost anywhere in the city but my favorite view is from Kenny Park. It has a great view of the Space Needle and of the Seattle Skyline. The park is a nice place to watch the sun set and see the city transition into the night time with all of its bright lights. The photos below were taken from Kenny Park.
