The New York New York Casino and Hotel is themed after famous landmarks of New York City including the skyscrapers, the statue of liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and neighborhood restaurants.

The hotel houses 2,023 guest rooms including over 190 suites and the casino gaming area is 84,000 square feet. Within the resort are restaurants that are reminiscent of New York City including Gallagher’s Steakhouse, Il Fornaio, Nine Fine Irishmen and an authentic pub. The featured entertainment at the resort are the Mad Apple by Cirque du Soleil and the thrilling Roller Coaster.

Day or Night

In traditional Las Vegas style, the New York New York Casino and hotel shines both during the day and at night. There is no mistaking this casino with its famous marquee signs.

The façade of the hotel is twelve towering New York inspired skyscraper that are 1/3 scale replicas of the New York City skyline including a 47 story Empire State Building.

No representation of New York City would be complete without a replica of the Statue of Liberty and the Las Vegas version is approximately half the size of the actual statue but at 150 feet tall it makes a statement during the day or at night.

Themed decorations

The themed decorations continue to the inside of the resort with a mural of the skyline above the registration area, New York landmark signage and New York style building frontages for stores and restaurants.

Big Apple Coaster

The Big Apple Coaster is a Coney Island style roller coaster designed for thrill seekers. It captures the spirit of New York City’s energy as it dips and twists around the resort property.

The Dust on My Shoes

Themed casinos are designed to represent the places that they are named after and the New York New York Casino accomplishes that objective. The tightly packed skyline replicates the mass of skyscrapers that the city is famous for and it reminds me of New York City being the most densely populated city in the United States. The Statue of Liberty is New York City’s most famous attraction so it is appropriate the Las Vegas version stands tall in front of the city skyline.

There are lots of New York City references and similarities that are easily seen while walking through the casino and hotel resort. In my opinion, it is one of the top themed casinos and should be visited during a trip to Las Vegas.

Las Vegas themed casinos bring back my memories of when I visited the actual places that they are trying to replicate. If you haven’t actually been to some of these places then maybe the themed casino will inspire you to travel and see them first hand.
