On the Surface . . .
For the purposes of this website I have identified North America as Canada and the United States only because I have included Mexico with Latin America.
Many people probably think that North America is a single culture but there are many regional cultures in North America. While there are a lot of similarities across North America, each region has its own sub-culture. Traveling across North America you will be able to see these cultural differences in the foods, music, art and architecture. These cultural differences are more noticeable in the smaller towns than in the big cities.
North American destinations have a vast range of climates from tropical to arctic. Because of this diversity, there are so many things that can be done on a trip to North America.
North America has something for everyone! What is your dream vacation? Mountains, beaches, big city lifestyle, food destinations, playing in the snow or sunning on the beach. North America has all of those and more!
Famous Places
Trying to make a brief list of famous places in North America is almost impossible because there are so many places to see and everyone’s interest will be different. The list below are some of the most famous tourist sites in North America.
Although these are some of the most famous sites in North America, there are many other places to see that most people would find them amazing places to experience. I will be posting on my experiences in the famous places in North America and I will also be sharing my experiences at many places in North America that I am sure that most people have never heard of but would enjoy seeing if they knew they existed.
My Experience in North America
Living in the United States, I have been to 33 of the 50 states and 5 of the 13 Canadian provinces. In those travels within North America I have seen many of the famous sites and many places that I didn’t know much about until I visited them.
For me, traveling in North America is different than when I travel to other regions of the world. There is no new cultural experience when I travel in North America but there are regional sub-cultures. That being said, traveling within North America can have a culture element and there is no shortage of places to go and things to see within North America.
When I think of North America, the things that comes to my mind are big cities, lots of entertainment (indoor and outdoor), historical sites, regional points of interest, regional foods, amazing nature and wildlife.
When I travel within North America I try to do things that are unique to the region that I am visiting. Each region has special sites that define that region and make visiting each region a unique experience. Absolutely, I always look for locally owned restaurants that specialize in food from the region!
